Kenny Blankenship (dw2@poa.st)'s status on Thursday, 27-Jun-2024 00:04:00 JST Kenny Blankenship @TrevorGoodchild You have to wonder what Larry Fink and pals are thinking here. It’s like their strategy is just “we don’t care how much money we lose in the short term, eventually the market will become so saturated with pozzed crap the goys will have to watch it.” This seems to be their thinking with video games and movies too.
Bold strategy Trev, let’s see if it pays off for em -

It's what shitlibs are in a sense, folks trying to spread their poison through making the business world their church. -

Kenny Blankenship (dw2@poa.st)'s status on Thursday, 27-Jun-2024 00:19:08 JST Kenny Blankenship @TrevorGoodchild I’m repeating myself here, but it really is astounding just how much the corporate heebs have destroyed pop culture over the last 20 years or so.
Each decade there used to be seismic changes and/or evolutions in music, TV, movies and video games. Now we’re at the point where every medium is in the deep throes of cultural sclerosis. New IPs are few and far between, you see nothing but reruns and sportsball on TV, and I couldn’t name any pop or movie stars under 35 if my life depended on it.
On a related note, Bob Iger on a recent conference call with investors literally described Disney’s strategy as “IP mining.” Looking forward to “Avengers 5: Fuck You Pay Me.” -

Judge Dread (judgedread@poa.st)'s status on Thursday, 27-Jun-2024 03:27:54 JST Judge Dread @DW2 Biggest new IP is Minions, which is a spinoff of Despicable Me, a creation of a second tier CG company that designed the minions to be simple and cheap to animate. Minions also have the advantage of being fantasy creatures with no stake in racial politics, all being the same shade of yellow. Kenny Blankenship likes this.
