Conversation

In praise of SMS:

* it is ubiquitous, almost everyone has it
* no installation required, 'phones support it
* if you have someone's number, you can send a text message, too
* it just works
* mostly instantaneous delivery
* standard SMS is just text
* non-complicated user experience

Sure, it has some limitations, but, I still find SMS to be invaluable.
