Nigga has more posts than my whole two year old instance.
-
Also my idea of purging botposts to decrease size and improve performance might be a bit far-fetched, don't know how to properly amass them considering some people put bot tag on their actual account for whatever reason. Plus I'd want to keep the posts that were interacted with. Anyway, here's all activities, not just Create; standalone relays survived the previous purge.

@mint are those post counts?
-
@franz First screenshot is amount of Create activities (that correspond to posts, yes), second is amount of all activities, including likes/reposts/profile updates/etc.
-
@mint that makes a lot more sense. at first I was like wow that’s a lot of posts.
-
29028731 total activities, I somehow misremembered it as being in hundreds of millions. 4074011 are from Service actors, so about 14%, not nearly as much as 1/3 that were taken up by announces from relays.
-
Anyway, purged 5% more total activities, that being dangling announces from standalone relays.

Ok, why the fuck there are two replies counts, one of which always stays at zero and other only appears when there's at least one reply.

@lina You're fifth, but yes, you still got more posts than my whole instance. Either way, I think I might be able to trim around 5% more activities without losing anything of value.
-
@mint is it me
-
@mint the ryukofag has gone insane
-
Doing it live, without the replica session mode might've not been the brightest idea.

@kirby It's done now, but I plan to go through two more instance, plus also prune orphaned activities after that.
-
@mint oh is that why it took a bit to load the website
-
@kirby And also vacuum. Can't forget about vacuum, but I'll go to sleep at that point and wake up when it's done.
-
Autovacuum kicked in, hopefully won't be an issue. Phoenix dashboard reports estimated size of objects table at 15986416, which should be 18% smaller than before trimming the fat. Counting orphaned activities takes a while.
-
>hopefully won't be an issue
It was, federation somehow halted. Counting orphaned activities still hasn't finished after 2200 seconds, which I assume was caused by it. Now it kicked in again, so I'll just stop pleromer for a second and try doing this with replica.
-
Autovacuum defeated with kill -9. Instance is spazzing out, running count again.
-
It's morning and the orphan activity cleanup is still running.
-
Still running. FWIW, compressed SQL dump that was made by a cron job decreased in size from 9.3 gigs to 8.1.
-
Still running, hopefully it's going to be done tomorrow. Federation with nicecrew seems to be broken likely due to those dangling activities after pruning which might be confusing pleromer; either way it should be resolved after the orphan cleanup is done, maybe also a restart.
