     @flux_the_cat Seems like a cry for help to me, at least in some instances. People who've experienced loss and heartache want to know there are other people out there like them. But man there's a venue to share this shit and it's not with millions of Twitter users who have no obligation to be nice to you. I think people, especially men, have to get comfortable suffering in silence as brutal as that sounds.

     @PraxisOfEvil there's something about the impersonal nature of anonymous or pseudoanonymous online communication that makes a certain type of person's walls come down. like some people were just looking for any excuse to overshare and the internet provided them with that opportunity. i have embarrassing stories that you couldn't waterboard out of me but some mfers will put their worst Ls out there like dirty laundry at the drop of a hat. it's cringey.

I've had people confess stuff to me that was deeply personal and I didn't know how to react. I don't want to play the part of a therapist but some days I feel I should have answers beyond "Just hang in there bro" but if nothing else I figure I can at least be someone they can talk to.

     @PraxisOfEvil most men don't understand that even anonymous vulnerability is still an attack vector. if you have enemies that are even moderately worth a damn they will use that vulnerability to attack you, sometimes mercilessly. i remember seeing one of ourguys confess a while back that he had been molested and there were some lefties that piled on him saying he deserved it and should have gotten it worse, etc. even knowing how horrible those people are i found that to be a bit shocking to say the least.
     
     it's a good lesson though. treat this online shit like a chess game. make your moves consciously and don't leave yourself open to attack because there's no low too low for some people to stoop to, especially if they hate you and want you dead.
