oh sweet jesus. I found some raspi-based GPS/RFID devices at ewaste, right? and they had a mini-PCIe WLAN card, complete with SIM card in it.
The SIM card is still active.

Yep. It's active on AT&T 4G data. It's got a phone number and everything.
I'm used to companies leaving all kinds of important info on microSD cards and individuals leaving their tax info on hard drives, but active SIM cards is a different thing entirely.
@foone now you have to ask yourself ... what alignment are you??
Lawful Good - Contact the carrier and return/destroy it?
Chaotic Good - Just straight out destroy it.
Lawful Neutral - Put the SIM somewhere in a drawer where it will be forgotten.
Lawful Evil - Rack up a bunch of data and THEN contact the carrier.
Chaotic Evil - Rack up a bunch of data until the SIM dies.
@inari oh, you're not thinking evil enough, not remotely.
also I have like 3-5 of these, and someone else who was at ewaste has another 10.
that's a lot of 4g SIMs
@A_C_McGregor haven't tested them all yet!
@foone are they all active?
looks like the company is still in business. I dunno why a bunch of their prototyping shit ended up at ewaste then
they're nearby and hiring. maybe I should show up for an interview and then reveal that I'm using their SIM cards
@davidrperry there's a semi-private one nearby that I sometimes visit because my roommate has access.
@foone what amazing ewaste are you browsing that you find such fun toys?!?!
