     Pita Limjaroenrat was the American chosen candidate, had the support of western media, western funding, was educated in politics in the US, called himself Obama, had Obama staff members on his campaign team and so on. Ran on the platform of gay marriage, closer alliance to the US, distancing from Russia/BRICS (Thailand still has open trade with Russia), allowing foreign (((bankers))) and so on.
     
     His party which is relatively new with a big influx of cash won the election over a party everyone expected to win being led by the daughter and niece of two previous Prime ministers.
     
     After he won the senate seeing all the corruption just didn't vote him in (Jan 6th but better timeline), started investigating him and finding a bunch of questionable things like comments of overthrowing the monarchy and stuff. He threaten the Thai government if he isn't elected as Prime minister by the senate. Senate told him that he is now suspended from House of Representative so he stepped down.
