     Where did you hear that
     
     It was a VN. And because of how linear the VN is, the subject matter and the branching paths being immediate game overs, it was able to have a perfect adaptation
     
     Then it got a new version of the VN with less description, but that's because it's entirely animate scenes + new animated scenes for it
     
     There's no mixed media stuff here

     @coolboymew I have not. I know the general contours of steins;gate but it’s one of those series that’s seems aggressively mixed media and so I don’t know if I’d start with one of the games or the series or what. Sometimes I stumble into those series early, like I did with .hack, and I enjoy them, but other times, like boogiepop or steins;gate, I feel like that ship is long gone for me to figure out where it’s worth getting into.
