     @sun Given today's state of affairs, the alternative to a Culture *War* is Culture *Surrender*. The problem is entertainment and pop culture becoming ever more gay, ugly and brown, ever more aggressively pushing leftist propaganda, not that people are complaining about it. The real problem is the Right not being pushing back hard ENOUGH - yes, it's 100% morally justified to boycott, blacklist and harass cultural vandals, culture matters, art matters, in fact, it matters a hell of a lot more than the life of the average left-liberal.

     @sun @nach Okay, then I definitely got the wrong impression from the OP, which I read as dismissing the culture war itself as stupid, and culture war rhetoric as something to be avoided on principle.
     
     Still don't agree with your Star Wars point tho, because it used to be one of the biggest and most iconic entertainment franchises in existence, and even now serves as an excellent example of what leftist agenda-pushing and propaganda actually does to a franchise, which justifies other fanbases taking a zero tolerance stance on these things.

     @sun I think Star Wars is a special case. So while I’m not a fan of Star Wars, I know some people would love to reclaim it to pre-Disney. However, it would need to properly die first and be cast away by the IP holder. Corpos only speak a few languages, and it is PR and money. I think it’s good that there is at least some amount of people like the YouTubers and social media guys maintaining pressure on the territory that the enemy currently have, and that’s probably what’s going on right now. The onus is then on people like you and me to protect other places. iirc, Disney is horribly in the red, but they’re ideologically captured, so we have to win on two fronts: financial deprivation, and social rejection.

     I “don’t care” about Star Wars or mainstream IPs like Marvel and whatnot because they are not my emotionally invested IP or area of the culture/entertainment industry, but I do care that something mainstream is turned into a symbol of failure to leverage normie opinion against the enemy and their ideologies.

     @lolipunk2069 Oh yeah, copyright is really messed up. But, we can only play around the restrictions set in place. Can any single one of us change how copyright works? Not exactly so we have to make it Disney’s problem for holding the IP, hence laying out the two objectives: financial deprivation and social rejection.

     As for alternative media, indeed, right now is the best time for indies and mainstream expatriates to build their own thing. That being said, not every one of them will succeed and stand on their alternative product’s merit, but that is the nature of the market.

     @Cayhr @ChristiJunior @nach @sun My stance on Star Wars and a lot of other once-beloved media properties is that they should've fallen into the Public Domain a long time ago. It doesn't help that copyright laws had been extended by Disney to such a degree that many works are doomed to become forgotten lost media, and only end up in the public domain after several generations have passed and completely forgotten about it. Companies shouldn't be allowed to hold onto a copyright for a property for longer than 20 years, let alone "death of the author plus seventy years".
     
     And as important as it is to push the idea of "stop giving shitlib corpos your money", it's also important for building alternative media networks that /are/ worth giving patronage to, and signal-boosting that. But of course, finding those creators and building them up is itself a tricky feat in this censorship-heavy cesspit that is the modern-day internet.
