   a. he knew Bilbo wasn't a bitch, and would rather see others entertained than wallow in past injuries
   b. "dragon attack survivor"?! THIS IS BLAMING THE VICTIM - the dragon. Bilbo invaded the dragon's lair for the purpose of stealing his treasure, and set off a chain of events leading to the dragon's death, in an otherwise completely peaceful area. Like the police entering a black neighborhood, all Bilbo had to do was stay away and nothing bad would have happened. Three months ago, that dragon laid down to sleep, and on the very day he awoke, he was murdered. Gandalf's little display is a further abuse, parading the image of the murdered before the murderer's extended family for their sick amusement.
