It's not even a FOSS issue at this point.-
Adrian Cochrane (alcinnz@floss.social)'s status on Saturday, 25-Feb-2023 03:23:52 JST Adrian Cochrane @lanodan But curation is a violation of free speech /sarc (HEAVY)
Really wish corporate-friendly opensource didn't leave me digging through a pile of unfinished projects to find the good ones! "Is it in the Debian repos" is a huge timesaving hueristic...

Adrian Cochrane repeated this. -

Adrian Cochrane (alcinnz@floss.social)'s status on Saturday, 25-Feb-2023 03:33:02 JST Adrian Cochrane @lanodan Sigh, there's such an opposition amongst a certain crowd against curation. As best as I can tell it's tied into the "dataism" philosophy, but I'm not grasping them well.
I'm certainly not convinced that curation is bad, and the alternatives are definitely worse!

In fact, Philosophers used thesis/anti-thesis/synthesis to express this kind of idea.
And without that kind of thing you end up with heaps of useless remnants of the past (some people would call that trash) or things like the library of Babel.
On that note, I'm taking out the trash :D
