     you can still watch old movies easily though. Pushing current_thing is just because that makes the most money. The degeneration of basic storytelling is from corporations being risk-adverse but the basic technical deficiencies are mainly down to clueless neopotistic imbeciles at the top leaning really hard on technology they haven’t bothered to understand.

     i watched a mini doc on it. basically current hollywood process is a bunch of clueless directors leaning really hard on vfx and other post production which are underpaid and overworked and given unrealistic deadlines so everything looks like shit. also why sound design in modern movies is ass
