@mint send him my regards, this issue was pissing me and blink off and we kept making halfassed attempts at diagnosing it but were turned away by javascript being involved. We'd narrowed it down far enough to know it was from specific follow notifications, but we didn't get as deep as figuring out what they had in common or noticing there's a type of follow notification that always has a null object id. He gets bonus points for the fix being a oneliner and extra bonus points for adding a unit test and for the unit test being more than 10 times the size of the operative code
