The people who rose to the top were those who were willing coverup and scratch each others backs, all of which I found most tedious. Generally speaking they weren't really suited for leadership in military matters or rather it was secondary to their ability to be political. The current military system is setup in such a way that it actively promotes finks.
Throw in all the woke shit over the years and who they've been cultivating in the academies and yeah.
