   It's been a while since I talked about readiness but this old article from cuck Newdick (not a tranny, that's just his name) highlights what happens when you give American aircraft to.....anyone who doesn't have the very deep pockets to support them.

   Our equipment is very needy, and pretty much the entire industry is built around preventative maintenance. It's why we have good safety numbers now. But, that's a foreign mindset in the 2nd and 3rd world - why would you remove and trash something if it's not broken?

     Ther'es a thread about some of those old "dangerous MiGs" the arabs ran. I've seen quotes from the book, and the more you read, the more it becomes apparent they only really got "dangerous" in the hands of brownoid militaries. The easter euro countries didn't have NEARLY the accident rate the mideasterners did.

     Keep in mind the F16 is vintage now, designed in the 70s as a cheap, single engine day fighter. As far as hangar queens go....it's actually one of our least fussy fighters.

     So they had 35, lost two, and in the span of what, 5 to 8 years since most were actually handed over (maybe 10 to 12 for the older ones, not looking up the delivery schedule) they've whittled their force down to 7 aircraft that are just to the absolute minimum level of airworthy

     and that probably sits a long way off from combat ready. That's just to take off and fly a lap around the field.

     Oh NVM it's exactly what I said. I'm not reading ahead, clipping as I go so I'm basically repeating it I guess. So the fighters haven't even been given much of a workout, but they're already in a shoddy, unworkable state of affairs.

     @professionalbigot69 Well yeah, it's advanced stuff and I bet that sand gets everywhere. They should have followed the soviet rule of thumb and made sure it's no more complex than a deep fryer (I imagine)

     That article mentions they didn't chock one of the birds post-flight and it rolled right into stuff and crushed its nose, so the radar probably didn't survive that

     @MeBigbrain It's more a risk thing though. It's expensive, but unless it's MY plane and I know I'm the guy flying it 100% of the time I'm find spending the money to swap out parts with 30% lifespan left on the clock just to avoid a spontaeous life or death checkride

     @professionalbigot69 Not really, it's like when one of those containers full of sneakers falls off the ship bound for africa. It's not so much sad as it is a more quick return to the norm

     Browns wouldn't have this stuff if it weren't fleeced from us and foisted on them from the start. Having it be immediately reduced to scrap copper is a good thing, in a way. It's nature bringing balance to her lands

     @MeBigbrain @WashedOutGundamPilot Those jets don't fly nicely. Pretty much every part has a lot of strain ran through it both through the vibrations the engine puts into everything and the kinda forces it's flying puts on the aircraft. I would argue they're not designed with planned obsolescence, they're just not sturdy enough to live through those conditions longer then advertised.
