   There are entire fields of science that have been absolutely bogus from their inception - some of them hundreds of years ago - with no pushback from the "respectable" fields. Some of those are the ones with the greatest direct influence in everyone's daily lives. Dissing religion (especially Christianity for being undermined) while "sticking to science" is so absurd it borders on pilpul.
