Today, as we know it because "I fucking love science" faggots incessantly tell us so, we have in our pockets a computer more powerful than whatever crap they used to put a man on the moon. It is able to access the wealth of human knowledge, do basically anything we want, and theoretically, it could completely replace a desktop/laptop and be the only computer someone has. Actually, thinking about it, I'm pretty sure many third world countries have most of the people doing that, China too, and I bet a lot of zoomers in Europe and the US also use just a phone for everything. It is, in fact, a brilliant piece of equipment and a marvel of technology.
UNFORTUNATELY IT SUCKS BECAUSE EVERYONE INVOLVED WITH IT, FROM PHONE MANUFACTURERS TO OPERATING SYSTEM DEvELOPERS TO ANYONE INVOLVED IN THE ECOSYSTEM IS ABSOLUTELY RETARDED.
For fucks sake, I hate this "everything should be an app" faggotry, and I hope that queer Steve Jobs is rotting in hell for pushing such a stupid idea.
Today it's cold and raining and I don't really feel like getting up from bed, but I need to check if some purchases I made were delivered to the agency for me to pick up them. So I got my phone, got into the company's website, logged in. They have a perfectly working mobile website. I can browse stuff. I can put them in a cart, it looks like. I think I can even complete a purchase. But I can't check the status of the purchases I made. It asks me to download the app "to make it easier for me". For fucks sake, you stupid faggots, I don't want to download you fucking app. I am on your website, logged in already. Your website works perfectly fine. All you need to do is to show me a list of my purchases and the delivery status. Fuck you.
Actually, if I just spoof it and tell Firefox to pretend it is in a desktop, it magically works and shows me a list. So you fucking retards have the info on the website, you just decided you don't want to show me it to try and force me to download your stupid app. Unfortunately, because it is the "desktop page", the layout is completely fucked and hard to read, so the experience still sucks.
This environment where all the end users simply accepted that everything should be an app sucks, and of course every company involved is fucking loving it. With apps they can keep pushing you notifications right at your home screen, something they can't do if they are just a web page that you access with your browser when you need it. Most importantly, with apps they can completely take away your control of the experience. In a web browser, you can, relatively easily, change the layout with a CSS. You can use browser extensions that allow you to do some shit like blocking ads. Those are way harder to do in an app.
Not gonna lie, I shudder when I think of a future where we don't have a free web anymore, just a bunch of apps. Mobile is not only heading this way, but it's almost there. Desktop will take a long time still, if it ever happens, mainly because corporations use the desktop and they kinda slow these kinds of changes. Also, the culture in the desktop has, so far, not accepted the "everything must be an app" mindset that was ingrained in mobile. But as more and more retarded people join the fray, it will get worse. And when the vast majority of the population is composed of retards, they will be able to push it without much push back (or safely ignoring the push back because it will only be a small number of people complaining). And then, everything will be over. There will no more exist an open web as envisioned by the guys in the 80s. It will just be a bunch of apps.

The future sucks and I hate it and that's the main reason I don't really care about being healthy, as I don't really see any motivation to prolong my life and live in the clown world for too long.
