I just can’t comprehend how one can look at footage of what #Israel just did in #Rafah #Gaza overnight and not conclude that there js something fundamentally broken about Israelis. And yes, there are obviously exceptions here, very noble ones. I’ve platformed a number of them on my podcast, but even they say that they are a rare voice, that most Jewish Israelis around them are either enthusiastic about the genocide or indifferent about its victims.

Elia Ayoub (he/him) (ayoub@spore.social)'s status on Monday, 27-May-2024 17:47:57 JST Elia Ayoub (he/him) And to be clear, I grew up in a very conservative Lebanese Christian village surrounded by outright fascists, including militiamen who committed massacres during the 75-90 wars, so when I am saying I view Israelis as morally broken, I am also speaking from a position of familiarity. Those Lebanese I grew up with are as broken as those Israelis today. The difference is that those Lebanese never had this much firepower or support from a superpower like the US.

So yeah, this shit is very familiar to me.
