@whitequark I maintained a raspi that did nothing but display one website for about a year, and THE ONLY problem I had was SD cards dying.
the raspi is just so good at killing microsd cards

It's an emmc with a microsd connector!
That's just microsd with extra steps!
@whitequark I find that RasPiKey are handy for this. They cost a little bit more than an SD card, but they are much more durable flash. They do however stick out of the SD card slot quite a bit.
I use them in my PiHole boxes after I got bored of the SD cards dying all the time.
