I've never seen them and was going to assert the only use case would be point to point connections like a NAS.

I'm probably going to go with (theoretically for this case) a GRE card. I would go XT and XTX but those will probably cook everything in the case.

I couldn't find any specific current draw figures for the 7950X, but given it can draw up to 250W under water I would get something with a beefier VRM.
I've also looked at the RAM QVL and they don't list even a single 64GB kit for some reason, let alone any 96GB ones.
The case is alright, but do consider the fact that it uses a unique radiator which is going to be an utter nightmare to replace in case it fails.

Not listed is any 2.5GbE switch, TinyPilot or PiKVM (extra $250-$360). I could reduce the core count to 8-12 and memory to 64GB if heat and price is a concern. Wanted to see if I could get into an iTX format. Originally was going to use 3 HAF Stacker 915F but I can't find them anymore.
One of these could also be a desktop during the day so I could put a GPU in it and then put my TR into a datacenter or retire it.

But I don't think that means I can use it unless I have a chip with discreet graphics. Am I able to run these boards headless with that 7950X3D or would I need any of the 8000G chips.
I'm wanting to build three of these systems for a cluster but also match the CPU count of my 1950X. I don't want to buy a Graphics card if I don't have to.

Regarding power delivery, all A620 boards I've seen have fucking awful Vcore regulators which also have no heatsink most of the time. The meta board for cost effectiveness is the ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2, and that's the bare minimum I'd consider.
Personally I went with a B650E board because I want PCIe 5. -

(not_benis@cawfee.club)'s status on Sunday, 26-May-2024 10:13:13 JST Executive Vice President of Racism, Inc. @splitshockvirus not knowing the difference in price between 2.5 and 10 gigabit interfaces myself, one clear answer I can give you is that in a select few parts of the world some people are able to get FTTH speeds above 1Gbps but well below 5Gbps, so the manufacturers are focusing on 2.5Gbps interfaces and calling it a day. -

But there is a thermal constraint with this case, but the case is chosen due to space constraint.
I can deal with having less cores because I can setup render servers on the other two cases.
So it's really a question of 24 cores that don't thermal throttle, or 48 cores that most likely do.

As for why 2.5 on the mobo, it's a very cheap upgrade for the manufacturer while 10GBASE-T is still a nontrivial expense, sadly. likes this.
