I'd definitely try faking success to get ahead if I had the nerve to do it. Appearances matter. When I wear a black shirt and nice shades, more people talk to me at the pub. Definitely feels like wearing a "cool guy" costume though. When people approach me all "looking good buddy", it makes me a bit nervous. I'm happy that people are wanting to talk, but is it really me they want to talk to, or Mr. Cool Shades? Do people really just LARP their way through life like that? Apparently so.
