   #Mastodon doesn't directly support quoting toot like the bird app. Support (Literally) Quoting Public Toots https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/22793 is still open. I hope they release support for this. This is killer feature.

     @nixCraft IIRC, unfortunately the lead developer of Mastodon has repeatedly stated he is against the feature for... reasons. 🤷♂️

     I would not hold my breath.
