   Fortunately there were enough good design decisions to turn the whole world of computing inside out, launch multiple trillion-dollar businesses, and change the shape of publishing, political discourse, music, video, and shopping.

   A little humility is in order here.

     @timbray Yeah, let’s not blame those trillion-dollar businesses on poor old HTML. It did nothing wrong. VC, capitalism, and Silicon Valley can take full blame for that mess.

     honestly, it's probably more or less the same as all the other awful design decisions baked into HTML in the early 90s
