   Seeing appearances of grimdark or somewhat edgy Touhou frustrates me slightly. It seems like there's just always influxes of tourists who just assume mature themes = dark, and that any doujin work created with dark settings or grimdark ideas are canon.
   A good example is Suwako's treatment. Suwako isn't supposed to be some overly evil dark god sacrificing innocents and consuming others for her own gain. She's a relaxed, long lived, native god who goes about life at her own pace. She'll act seriously when need be, sure, but she also has the side of her that flaps her arms about while flying for no reason other than it being fun. The only time a girl like her should be overly scary is when someone has wronged the people she cares about.
