     @nixCraft I never heard of it until it was long gone. It was never my default, but at least there's Firefox. I would have preferred if the old MS Edge stuck around, options are horribly limited these days.

     @nixCraft I knew Netscape, loved the icon, but hated the default grey background color. Around the time I knew about it, my country was dominated by Internet Explorer (as other countries were but particularly in my country) so it was fairly rare to have it installed on any desktop.

     @nixCraft I worked tier one dial up tech support for EarthLink and they recommended that folks use Netscape.

     Yes and no.

     I've used Firefox since it was called Mozilla and had the red Godzilla icon.

     @nixCraft of course, it was a nice alternative for IE but better, however with our very limited internet at the time, we rarely used it, plus, the internet was hulla expensive & 64Kb/s was the pinnacle then so everybody in tunisia didn't use it much, now 10Mbit/s is the pinnacle but the subscription is cheaper, not dirt cheap, but cheaper

     @nixCraft As a web developer, it rendered web pages very differently from the default Internet Exploder at the time, so it was there mostly for testing. Opera was my default, with a lot of others for different things. I actually ran w3m and lynx on Windows 2000(!).

     @nixCraft I still have bookmarks in Firefox that I originally saved back when it was Netscape Navigator. Don’t know how many of them still point to living sites, but they haunt my Bookmarks menu to this day.
