   Please don't say Mastodon or the Fediverse is "impervious to private take-over".

   Remember when email was built to be impervious to private take-over, but now nobody can run their own email server because it got taken over by corporations?

   Remember when the internet was impervious to private take-over because we had distributed routing and stuff, but now it's entirely taken over by corporations?

   Nothing is impervious to greed and money. Don't be complacent.

     @Craigp That said, I am running my own mailserver for argonaut-constellation.org ! Quite easy with Maddy, though it can't automate your DNS configuration.

     And they do warn that they don't know what GMail is doing regarding spam...
