@arstechnica yes, that is how words work. that's how they've always worked. so the expectation is that anyone who speaks that language understands that language.
@arstechnica Let's be clear: a lot of media are specifically doing this on purpose.
Also importantly, it also goes the other way. They use such language to make early/loose interpretations seem like fact.
