     Though NieR's lore was always a mess. With the OG PS3 game most of the lore was in a Japanese exclusive artbook called Grimoire NieR. IIRC they didn't bother translating it until 2022 when Automata was all the hype.
     
     Also they fucked up the music in the NieR 1 re-release with no option to switch to the OG soundtrack. Seriously what the fuck is it with squeenix and fucking up music in re-releases?
