@Paultron THAT TRACKS
"BUBBLE CAR BUT NOW ELECTRIC" IS WHAT I HEAR ABOUT THE NEW BIG THREE VARIANTS AS WELL
LIKE THE CHEVY SPARK/SPARQ IS JUST AN ELECTRIC AVEO/TRAX
DITTO THE FORD LEAF OR WHATEVER
-
@nugger yeah i kind of liked the looks of this thing but really this is just one of the neo-station wagon crossovers with surprisingly little room inside
but i had rented a kia soul. got 'upgraded'. asked for the soul back.
>No :^)
ok well i'm gonna beat the hell outta this thing and use 140 miles of calculated battery range in just under 80 then, wheee

@Paultron PLEASE ELABORATE
IS IT THE VERY BIG CENTRAL SCREEN WITH NO TACTILE CONTROLS
-
@nugger yeah on a teslet there is like one lever and 2 buttons and everything else has to be handled through the ipad. i couldn't figure out how to do the headlights so had to do that on the screen, same with climate control and other stuff. it's obvious that it was intended to be mostly 'self driving' and they couldn't make it do that entirely so they neutered a lot of the features and while they're kind of cool they left them enough authority to take control from the driver a lot. also the regen braking starts as soon as you let up on the pedal
the korean electric cars i've been getting have been just like 'car you know already, but electric'. decent range, releasing the pedal will let it more or less idle roll. pedal to the floor accel feels as strong as tesla. both of them are limited by the rental jew to 100mph. the cruise control is a lot more hands off and will let you override it a lot easier. plus it's made by a car manufacturer instead of a silicon valley guy who acts like he's making cell phones so they feel a lot more solid
