@FailurePersonified @j @pantherastare CC'd you on the post.
> I was kicking alcoholism when I started smoking,
Yeah, substances usually want other substances to displace them. Or you could try compulsive behavior, people take up frequent jogging or getting really serious about jacking off. Ain't a good thing to have a thing have a grip on you, I am lucky that my genes only like nicotine that much.
- † top dog :pedomustdie: likes this.

@FailurePersonified @j @pantherastare Well, my dog is dead. Her luck's up. That was why I started again, basically woke up, drove a dead dog to the vet, woman bawling her eyes out, got moderately drunk, ran out of alcohol, went out to get more, purchased nicotine device while running around town half-drunk.

Oh poor girl :( How old was she?
Losing a pet is an understandable reason to go back to it. It’s really shitty, after we lost our dog I haven’t been able to even think about getting another, the loss of our dog was hard.
I was kicking alcoholism when I started smoking, honestly worried I’ll just start drinking again as nicotine is how I relax, but I don’t think I’ll let it get to that point.

> nicotine withdrawals are really bad,
Goes a bit easier if I spend less time thinking about it.
> getting it all out fucking sucks
As noted, I am aware, having done this before.
> however, the cravings never stop
They do. Couple of weeks and I'm fine, lasted months last time. As long as my dog does not die again, I expect it'll stick this time.
