(My memory is that ps3 was well-understood enough to build linux for it, but I don't know if that's still true, also I believe that was the result of reverse-engineering to begin with, nothing on soyny's part.)

Sony is already dying off as more and more people move to PC, this is already proven by their aggressive push to release their games on that platform, and their new console remains without games. So what value is there in capturing a company like this?
