   Conceivably, there is no way this game will ever recover from this on steam, and the negative reviews continue to come in, plus think they are just no longer selling it in 170 countries, imagine being the CEO of that game studio, probably a huge gut punch

     I think after this blowback Sony might not be doing many PC releases in the future.

     @PensiveCowboy I always felt it was a one-trick game with a lot of polish and eye-candy, it was never going to be for me.
     
     I think Sony is just trying to boost it's own brand at the expense of another brand, I don't think they expected the backlash they've received. Sony will recoup the losses in the usual way by selling user data, but I think the Helldivers devs will suffer the biggest hit, especially now that Steam is accepting 100+ hour refunds.

     @TheEternalAnglo The game is great, good mechanics, the updates they have done for it are good, I don't understand the move by Sony to implement this change after the fact and turn a huge windfall and biggest cross-platform publishing W of all time into a historic L
