If one were to look at politics through a mainstream lens then the Ohio Derailment should have been a slam dunk victory for the left. It wasn't, as they have looked feckless and incompetent in the government's handling of the crisis, and the silence from pop environmentalists just weeks after they went after gas stoves.
People who view politics from a dissident worldview see why that is: The left own all the levers of power and despite that failed to stop a catastrophe, or even adequately contain the disaster after the fact. This was exacerbated by them chasing legacy Americans (cough, Whypepo, cough) out of the kinds of positions that they long held.
I feel like this is America, and Globohomo's, Chernobyl moment. They have proven that they cannot effectively run a country this size. They've largely already proven this with the stunning decline of cities, but some ignored that with the old "ugh, liberal cities, what can you do?" attitude. People can't ignore this.
