It's really fun having old guys get hired on to do my job as "something to do to keep me busy" after they've been retired for a few years
I really love when they look at me aghast when I say "you can't just find any old job where you invoice someone $150 an hour" because they haven't had to scrounge for money since the 80's (Evidently that's a "low rate" that I "should be able to get that anywhere!")
I especially enjoy sitting there listening to them drink and ramble about all fifteen very serious health issues they have only to abruptly tell me "you're such a smart kid, why're you wasting your time here? When I was at my last company I'd have killed for someone like you....."
....except they never, ever have a line on that better job. It's always "should" or "ought", and when it finally comes down to calling in favors and getting ahead, they have nothing to help me but stealing an easy commission and leaving when someone asks them to actually work at their "easy part time job", or wake up in time to beat the sun to takeoff
