man, the heatsinking effect is crazy. With the stubby iron its thermal mass makes a portion of the solder around the tip instantly melt, but then that same portion instantly solidifies a half second later as its heat is sinked away into the board.

So it's impossible to melt the whole thing all I can do is make an ugly mess like this
