@dcc @sjw @nosleep Indeed, the whole "Greeks were totes gay" thing traces back to a single homosexual (what a shocker!) academic, who published a book on the matter, citing 300 different images found on pottery that depicted homosexual acts.
When pressed for his sources, he was able to show only about 50, and one of them included pottery almost identical to the one pictured, clearly a woman taking it up the ass.
He was then asked what made him think that a straight couple having sex is somehow gay?
His response was along the lines of "the woman is depicted taking it from behind, because the artist wanted to show gay sex, but didn't due to societal pressure".
His insane levels of projection aside, his answer also contradicted his initial claim that gay sex was common place in ancient Greece.
