   you don't have to, that's literally ever western cartoon. i saw the new episode of Invincible with friends and every dude is pathetic and insecure while the girls are confident and making moves. the whole reason people are moving away from that is because that is not an idealization of the sexes. the damsel in distress trope has been around so long for a reason.
