You can fill most of the weird games list with the net yaroze games. They're never gonna get translated but have a few oddities.
One of which was Asobu Rakugaki. Which in modern terms is a "walking simulator" but one of the unique things about this platformer was that the environment could be interacted with opening up progress. Like at one point the environment folds up like paper allowing you to progress.
Another was this tamagatchi game. You go around the environment looking for pets to get and you have to do a certain action to collect them. The environment always came off as weird to me and there's even a day and night cycle.
