   @sysrq @Zerglingman Many reasons, conflicts are a real pain in the but (they are not rare) second you lose out on the ability to change out package's for newer ones. Third many times if you're systems is fucked , your package manager may make it impossible to fix again. Fourth, having a small central number of base system packages makes the entire management part unneeded.
