You can also make mana by discarding from hand so a scenario where you're mana screwed is less common. Since there's lots of cards that share a name you got Special Abilities that you can use by discarding the card of the same name, it doesn't have to be the same card either. So you can actiave a Special on these Clouds by discarding another Cloud.
