I'm not trying to defend "edgy meme culture," but people (especially zoomers and young millennials) thinking 9/11 is funny is just the natural consequence of telling us OVER AND OVER that it's the "worst thing to ever happen on American soil" while COVID, mass shootings, lack of healthcare and climate change have killed a 9/11's worth of people 1000 times over and no one cares
