   @NitroDubs @givenup @poastoak Cut down 2 engines, maybe lengthen the fuselage a bit for better seakeeping, and you have a passing modern catalina.

   There are some cool projects in the amphib wings like this darpa weirdness:

   There’s a small resurgence in ground effect aircraft, these guys and some civ company are working on it. Seaplane friend was all excited thinking he might ACTUALLY be able to have more than 5 places to work in the future. (flies beavers now, don’t know why he’d want to live in NYC and fly the electric goyslop special instead tho)
