I recently found out one of them had been told to build an automated process to move data from one system to another every day at 3 am. It turns out he didn't know how, so he had been getting up every day at 3 am and manually SFTPing the file while having claimed the automation was done. He was doing this 7 days a week for months. it only got discovered when the task had run 17 minutes late and someone went to go look at the crontab to see what happened and realized there wasn't one there. Turns out he missed his alarm. Was fired. And then replaced with a guy just like him.
