   @p @Arkana @Polfusilier Caesar was a politician who had to explain why he disobeyed the senate and illegally invaded Gaul and then Britain. He was attacking Roman allies and needed reasons. Amazing that you complain about German militarism and post a Roman conqueror to refute them... and a filthy continental, no less!

   We have actual excavations of the stuff they built. Pic related. Tacitus wasn't lying. Lots of Roman technology came from them, like chain mail. When Caesar fought the Germanic tribes he fought against city-sized hill fortresses.
