Religion has repressed the human energy, the kundalini. The snake kundalini is the actual divine and there is no personal god, we are all part of the one consciousness, and when the ego disappears you merge into it, or rather wake up. It's like the filter has been removed and now reality simply is there. It's not attaining enlightenment, it's simply removing all the false layers of self until the true eternal reality is all that remains
