   You gotta understand that it’s a very quiet, intimate issue. You kids may not even know you weren’t supposed to be an only child, you might have been intended as the first of 5.

   So when your mom hears your buddies making fun of the twitter spinsters demanding fat acceptance in gaming for being dusty-wombed, eggless husks, she feels like you’re mocking HER inability to give you siblings, she feels like you’re impugning her as a failure of a mother.

   I know we don’t have teens around here in huge numbers but that’s the dynamic we ought to be watching out for
