   The Supreme Court's announcement in Obergefell v. Hodges on June 26 was a defining moment for LGBTQIA+ civil rights in the United States. The Supreme Court determined, by a single vote, that same-sex marriage cannot be prohibited in the United States and that all same-sex weddings must be recognized nationwide, providing same-sex couples with the same legal protections as heterosexual couples.

   Let us celebrate the progress but remember the fight is not over.
