@Rhodesian_YuKari @johnnyappleseed @Owl I don’t think we even MAKE tomboys past the age of in-home internet, sadly. The conditions simply don’t exist like they used to, any more than the ‘good old boys’ do.
Boys aren’t even tomboys anymore. When’s the last time you saw a 10 yo dude riding his bike around town and catching frogs under the lampposts? He’s just as mythical as the tomboy catchin’ frogs alongside him.
I love this post because it really cuts through the veneer of tomboys - the stuff they do, the way they present - to what we often love about them: they don’t have the preening faggotry, materialism, and cuntiness that comes with other women.
And you can find that in non-tomboy girls. It’s easy for us to get wrapped up in wishing, but we need to be open to the spirit of what we’re looking for. I’d never have had “shy, homebody 4h NEET weebess” in my list of female archetypes to date but I quite like her now.
