Very happy to have another woman on staff here to help back up our theories.
I’ve long told everyone that you shouldn’t look for parity in your hobbies w/ women - girls simply will never like things the same way you do, even your shared hobbies are accouterments for her personal brand.
For the autists:
A man who loves motorcycles loves the ride. He likes shopping for bikes, likes working on them all weekend, likes going on adventures and drinking in the experience of it. If you barred him from ever talking about it, wearing the paraphernalia, or riding motos in view of anyone IRL he’d be totally content to live that way.
But women don’t like it that way, they like being SEEN, they like the BEING more than the DOING. Girls like being a motorcyclist, they like people seeing them part their bike and wear cute jackets and garner attention from guys who walk up and say “damn that’s soooo cool, you never see girls on one of these“. She doesn’t schedule multi-day pilgrimages to ride excellent mountain roads 3 states over, she doesn’t love riding out to nowhere in particular to be alone with her thoughts and listen to her brand new exhaust note.
(I say all this having tried to date girls in my hobbies, and coming away perplexed every time until I figured this out)
