   Sextus Varius Avitus Bassianus, better known by his nickname Elagabalus, was a 14-year-old gay boy who was installed as a puppet Emperor by his mother and grandmother. Widowed Empresses from the Severan Dynasty. A mixed-raced (although not black) dynasty from North Africa. Elagalabus reigned from 218-222 AD during which time he converted the Imperial Palace into a brothel. He whored out the Vestal Virgins, a sanctified religious class of women, as well as himself. Finally he sent out a call across the empire searching for someone who could turn him into a women. He was promptly stabbed to death in 222 AD and thrown into the Tiber River by the Praetorian Guard, who frankly should have acted a lot sooner.
