@caekislove I turned a coworker on to it when he was whining about wanting one. Set him up with the high-end, $500 replicas and he’s been happy.
Nobody really thinks a rolex is real, anyway. Unless you buy it from an AD, I’m assuming you’re too inept to know whether or not it’s a fake. By now, they’ve gotten to the point where a truly good one needs you to take off the back and check out the movement to see whether or not the lettering is correct. It’s extremely easy to pass off a ‘replica’ to a jewler or used shop if they’re not familiar with how good they’ve gotten, particularly when you even have a fake box, labels, stickers, etc.
Besides, when I do wear a fake I tell people about it. I’ve had less problems with those than I have the real ones, I feel like a fool dropping that kind of money now. If omega didn’t want $1200 to repair the gasket on my seamaster, maybe I’d feel diff, but all I get now is a sense of being conned when I look at a $3k+ price tag for brand-name boomer bait
Then again I just wear them for me, I don’t really care about what other people think about my watch choices. If you want a rolex for style, then having a gen is a huge, huge deal to fellow nigbrains
